Custom work doesn’t have to feel like a maze. This page is the quick, surface-level flow of how commissions work at Edge Kinetica, from first message to finished piece.

1 | Inquiry

Send your idea, references, and any sizing context. I’ll confirm feasibility, answer questions, and help shape the scope.

If we both want to move forward, we transition into Art & Design.

2 | Slot Reservation

Downpayment: Cost of slot reservation (150 EUR)
This also pays for the Art & Design phase. It’s where we turn the inquiry into a real commission plan.

This happens before your turn in the production queue. Once Art & Design is complete, your commission sits in the queue with a locked spec and locked total cost.

3 | Art & Design phase

This phase turns your inquiry into a build-ready blueprint. We lock the design, the technical requirements, and the final total price before you enter the production queue.

What happens here:

  • Measurements & fit mapping: full measurement intake, plus any required fit references (head/body/feet/hands). If needed, we build 3D fit models to verify proportions and clearances.

  • Design lock-in: silhouette, feature list, and custom details (closures, panels, accessories, mobility needs).

  • Materials & colors: material selection, finish, color direction, and surface details.

  • Tech planning (if applicable): electronics integration planning, 3D printed parts/interfaces, mounting points, and tolerances.

  • BOM + cost lock: we compile a bill of materials, confirm components, and produce a locked spec + locked total cost.

Outcome: you’re queued for production with everything defined, so when it’s your turn the remaining payment is straightforward and the build can start immediately. (See Terms & Conditions.)

4 | Production Phase

Cost to proceed: Full commission payment (€150 deposit deducted)

When it’s your turn in the queue, the remaining balance is due. This payment covers everything required to actually build the commission, including:

  • materials + components (ordering, shipping, spares where needed)

  • production labour (construction, finishing, assembly)

  • technical production prep (fit processing, AI-assisted fit tools where applicable, 3D modelling, print prep/prototyping)

  • electronics work when relevant (design, ordering, assembly, integration, testing)

  • any R&D and problem-solving specific to your build

  • studio overhead (tools, consumables, utilities, machine time)

Once paid, production begins and you’ll receive progress updates and check-ins as the build moves forward (tracked in Trello).

5 | Shiping

Cost to proceed: Shipping payment (paid before dispatch)
We ship from Denmark worldwide using UPS, DHL, FedEx, or PostNord. All orders are insured, so expect a slight increase vs. standard shipping rates.

Once your commission is finished and packed, you’ll receive a shipping quote based on destination and parcel size. Shipping must be paid before dispatch, and tracking is provided when it ships.


2 | Slot Reservation

With your permission, I by default post finished commissions on social media (never without consent). You can choose:

  • tagged / untagged

  • anonymous / cropped / full reveal

  • or no posting

Your preference is confirmed during the process.
